Design with Wonder Workshop

As children, we are captivated by the newness of the world. We find delight in the simplest things that surround us like a cardboard box, imagining what it could be or do.

Over time, how we experience the world becomes more defined, expected, and even mundane. Our curiosity for things like a cardboard box wanes and we see it mostly for its everyday meaning — as a functional object to carry stuff.

To “design with wonder” is to question what else an object could be or do as if seeing it for the first time. This is the mantra that our studio practices daily. We are open to every possibility, drawing from personal experience and intuition while challenging paradigms and rules. In this mindset, we reconnect with our original sense of wonder.

We take familiar things and remix them with new people, places, and other things. In the process, we change their context and create new meaning. We see the cardboard box as a house for a cat, a slide for kids, or a nightstand for glasses.

Whether we’re designing mass-produced objects or experimental statement pieces, our mission is to help people transcend the mundane by injecting new meaning into everyday moments.

This workshop offers an in-depth analysis on our methodology and how to apply it to your own design work or creative pursuits.
